Join local artist Caleb Rainey and museum educators for a playful poetry workshop!
What: The Iowa Children's Museum, in partnership with Think Iowa City, is proud to welcome local author, performer and producer Caleb "The Negro Artist" Rainey for a special drop-off program on Friday, April 22 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Children ages 8+ will enjoy free play in the museum followed by a writing workshop with Caleb, in celebration of National Poetry Month. In this workshop we will use our favorite, coolest, wackiest objects from around the museum to create persona poems. With the help of similes and metaphors, we will make our objects come alive! Workshop is limited to 20 participants. Learn more about our guest artist here.
